Since 2006, Custom Benefits Solutions has helped in crafting the best benefit packages for employees.
We operate using three core beliefs - Trust, Transparency, and Technology. What does that mean to us?
When you have a trusted advisor, you lean on them a lot. But are they preparing you for your organization’s future? How would you describe your organization in 5 years, 10 years or longer? We work strategically together with our clients to build this productive trust, help them chart their course, and stay on track for now and for the future.
Do you know what your broker is earning from your benefits package? More importantly, how is your
broker reinvesting that revenue into your benefits programs? Here at Custom Benefits Solutions, we wholly disclose what we earn from our partnership and how that comes back to you…our client.
How can you decode the secrets of your health plan and custom design wellness programs that tackle your cost drivers? Do your employees have someone they can talk to about their health challenges? Custom Benefits Solutions can bring solutions to your workforce that guide them to make healthier choices in their everyday lives while being sensitive to each individual employee’s place in their healthcare journey.

HR and Benefits Consultant
Cindy has held several Human Resources roles at large companies. As the Director of Benefits for a large non-profit, Cindy helped her organization achieve consecutive health care cost decreases through unique benefit strategies. Always seeking a win-win for the company and the employees, Cindy created a strategy which maximized the health benefits and financial opportunities for both groups in the ACA environment. Cindy and her organization also took chances in uncharted territory by designing a plan that created health awareness and accountability. As Cristy says, “all you need is a good advisor and a little courage”. Cindy explains, "it is so true! I have experienced this at so many levels from making the move to self-insured, bringing change to employees, to implementing strategies with no guarantees. The work that goes into actively managing a self-insured plan is well worth the payoff for both the company and the families". Prior to joining CBS, Cindy helped several Asheville employers develop their HR and benefit program. Being at both sides of the employee benefits table, Cindy shares real solutions with employers to improve the quality of care at a fair price.
Cindy holds a M.S in Human Resources from Western Carolina University and is a certified HR professional (SHRM-CP, PHR)

After a decade of Human Resource IT work as a business analyst and management consultant, Samir Masic gravitated towards a new career in public and population health by creating a childhood obesity prevention nonprofit on the Navajo Nation. Upon returning to South Carolina, Masic lead the Wellville Exchange, a needs analysis through Way to Wellville Spartanburg and one of five nation-wide Way to Wellville population health initiatives. Masic was appointed the director of a year-long study focusing on Spartanburg County, SC small to mid-sized businesses, he canvassed the county to better understand its employee’s social determinants of health needs, and effects current healthcare system limitations have on them.
Equipped with research insights and information what Upstate South Carolina businesses would like to see addressed in upcoming years, Masic joined Custom Benefits Solutions, turning theory into practice.
